EUDR — EU Deforestation Regulation

Get in touch

The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) sets requirements for certain commodities and products made from them that enter the EU market or are exported from the EU.

Wood · Rubber · Coffee · Cocoa · Palm oil · Soya · Cattle

Which products does the EUDR cover?

The products covered are listed in Annex I of the Regulation. They must be deforestation-free and produced in accordance with the relevant laws of the country of production. Due-diligence and declaration requirements depend on the company’s role in the supply chain.

What does this mean for Swiss businesses?

If you supply covered goods to the EU, your EU customers need information on their origin and supply chain. Check which supporting documents you need to provide. The EUDR does not apply to the Swiss market; covered timber products remain subject to the Swiss Timber Trade Ordinance (TTO).

What should you prepare for an initial assessment?

Prepare a product list with tariff codes, origins and suppliers. Also note whether your company imports, processes or resells the goods.
