Compliance with the Swiss Timber Trade Ordinance (TTO) and wood declaration requirements
Businesses first placing timber or wood products covered by the TTO on the Swiss market must exercise due diligence: gather information, assess risks and mitigate them where necessary. Traders keep records of their suppliers and the businesses to which they resell these products.
Those supplying consumers with products covered by wood declaration requirements must state the wood species and country of harvest. This information does not replace a due-diligence system under the TTO.
